Titus Chapter 1 - CalvaryCPT 10:30am Sunday Morning Worship
What does it mean to build something that lasts? In this powerful exploration of Titus chapter 1, we are invited to examine the foundations of our faith, our character, and our communities. The apostle Paul's instructions to Titus about appointing qualified leaders in Crete become a mirror for each of us to hold up to our own lives. Before Titus could set things in order for others, he had to understand what order looked like from the inside out. The same is true for us. The qualifications Paul lays out, blamelessness, self-control, hospitality, and integrity in every area of life, are not a checklist for a select few. They are a portrait of what the Holy Spirit is actively shaping in every believer who surrenders to his work. We are reminded that a building with compromised materials, no matter how impressive it looks from the outside, will eventually fail. Our spiritual lives are no different. When we allow the Holy Spirit to identify the gaps, the missing bricks, the places where disorder has crept in, and then invite him to restore and rebuild, we become people whose lives can bear the weight of genuine ministry to others. This is not about perfection. It is about a life consistently and honestly oriented toward God, where the accusations of compromise simply do not stick.
