Colossians emphasizes Christ, the Head of the body. In emphasizing Christ's headship of the church, Paul shows that our Lord is all-sufficient for our every need. Many people today give Jesus Christ a place of eminence, but they will not give Him THE place of preeminence. But we'll see in HIS word that He is not a "great man among great men"; He is God's Son, preeminent in all things!
